Michelle Beatrice Watson is a contemporary dancer, who is dance captain of The Next Step Dance Studio.
Michelle arrives at The Next Step after her family is relocated from her hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. Having been Miss Nationals Soloist and dance captain at her previous studio, Michelle easily makes it into A-Troupe. Her arrival warrants antagonism from Emily, who she eventually overthrows as dance captain. Michelle later asks Emily to be her co-captain, which she eventually accepts.
Michelle momentarily leaves The Next Step due to the stress of the love triangle between herself, Hunter, and Eldon and and a newfound disinterest in dance. After the studio performs a flash mob for her, she happily rejoins the studio. At Nationals, Michelle defends her title of Miss Nationals Soloist.

Michelle was born in Madison, Wisconsin and started dancing when she was three. She became a full-fledged dancer at the age of nine after performing a duet with Hunter at summer camp.
Michelle was dance captain at her old studio. She won Regionals with her studio, qualifying for Nationals, where she was awarded the title of Miss Nationals Soloist.
